HOLLY PARK MARINA, Patroon Bayou Designated Paddle Trail

Holly Park Marina is the trailhead of the TPW Patroon Bayou Paddle Trail, a designated Texas Paddling Trail, where you can experience the world class flat water kayaking of upper Toledo Bend Lake. The trail consists of a 2-mile loop and an 8-mile loop for more experienced paddlers. 

Along the trail you can fish for bass, crappie, bream, and catfish. Barfish are plentiful during the summer. Holly Park Marina has great lodging and a tackle store with fishing equipment, lures and live bait. You can also pick up breakfast or lunch at Holly Park’s grill – they serve the best burgers on the Bend - and their convenience store is well stocked with cold drinks, ice, snacks and other goodies.

A diverse range of wildlife make their home on Patroon Bayou and you may spot resident Bald Eagles, Ospreys, Herons, Kingfishers, whitetail deer on the bank, and many other animals.

Make memories with friends and family! Paddling the Bayou is a great group activity for family gatherings, spring break, birthdays, holiday celebrations, or a lady's day out while the guys are fishing a tournament.

Rates below are for Self-Guided Kayaking. We meet you and drop your kayaks off at Holly Park Marina, weather permitting, at the pavilion across the highway from the store, and pick them up there when you're done.

Rates:

Standard Single Kayaks, Total Weight Limit 225lbs

- $30 Half Day (up to 4 hours)

- $50 Full Day (over 4 hours)

Premium Single Kayaks, Total Weight Limit 275lbs TO 325lbs. We will place you in the kayak model that's appropriate for your trip.

- $45 Half Day (up to 4 hours)

- $65 Full Day (over 4 hours)

Tandem Kayak, Total Weight Limit 400lbs. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs to assist in launching and loading.

- $65 Half Day (up to 4 hours)

- $80 Full Day (over 4 hours)

Rates Include: Each kayak comes with a USCG approved life vest, paddle with lanyard, safety whistle and waterproof phone case.

RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE AND ARE FIRST COME FIRST SERVED. Please use the Contact Us button or give us a call or text to (936) 201-6495 with any questions and to check availability. Bookings are completed via email to paddle@toledobendkayakrental.com. We require a completed Liability Waiver in advance for each person who will be paddling a kayak and a completed Rental Contract for your party. Once we've scheduled your trip, we will send you an email confirmation.

Parents must complete our Liability Waiver for minors under 18 years old. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 

- Children must be 13 or older to paddle their own Single Kayak

- One child 5 to 6 years old can sit in front of one adult on a Premium Single Kayak, please let us know you'll be paddling with a child so we can put you in the appropriate kayak

- One child 7 years and older can sit or paddle with one adult on a Tandem kayak

Please arrive 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled launch time to receive Lifevest fitting and basic safety instruction.  We understand things happen so please contact us if you're running late! If we have not heard from you within 15 minutes of your scheduled launch time the reservation will be cancelled, and we will leave. 

In case of bad weather, for safety, we do not deliver kayaks during prolonged rain events, flooding, thunderstorms, dangerous winds, or on weather alert days. If dangerous weather is predicted and we need to cancel your trip we will notify you as soon as the Weather Service has a firm prediction, usually 24 to 48 hours in advance, and we'll work with you to reschedule your trip. While kayaks are in your possession, please use your discretion and be weather aware. If a pop-up storm should occur go to the nearest bank, pull kayaks on shore, seek any available shelter and wait it out. Give us a call or text to let us know you'll be delayed.
