DESIGNATED TEXAS PADDLING TRAIL

Lost Frontier Reach Trail is a perfect little hideaway with quiet waters, beautiful shorelines and great kayak fishing. The trail is a little over 5 miles long and is about a 2 hour paddle, but we know you'll want to stay longer. This is a self-guided trip. We meet you and drop your kayaks off at or near the boat ramp at Lost Frontier Park which is a premier facility that offers sandy beaches and one of Sabine County's best restaurants and bar. With calm waters, a swimming beach, and additional amenities and refreshments available, this is the perfect trip to bring your children along! We recommend making a day of it, and we'll set launch and return times that work for you.

Standard Single Kayaks, Total Weight Limit 225lbs

- $45 Half Day (up to 4 hours

- $60 Full Day (over 4 hours)

Premium Single Kayaks, Total Weight Limit 275lbs to 350lbs. We will place you in the kayak model that's appropriate for your trip.

- $55 Half Day (up to 4 hours)

- $70 Full Day (over 4 hours)

Tandem Kayak, Total Weight Limit 400lbs. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs to assist with launching.

- $65 Half Day (up to 4 hours)

- $80 Full Day (over 4 hours)

Rates Include $5 Resort Launch Fee 

All Rental Fees Are Subject To Sales Tax

Total Weight Limits include you, your gear, water, etc. If you are close to the weight limit on a Standard Kayak, you'll need to upgrade to a Premium Kayak. For your safety we will ask your weight during booking and place you in the appropriate kayak for your trip.

Rates Include: Each kayak comes with a USCG approved life vest that we will fit, paddle with lanyard, safety whistle and waterproof phone case. Fishing set ups are provided on request at no cost and include a kayak with rod holders and lanyard for your rod.

Rates below are for Self Guided Kayaking. We meet you and drop your kayaks off at the boat ramp and pick them up there when you're done.

RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE AND ARE FIRST COME FIRST SERVED. Your reservation is NOT complete until you receive confirmation from us via text, Message or email with your date and time!!! We DO NOT HOLD KAYAKS without a completed confirmation! If you will be delayed more than 15 minutes later than your scheduled launch time please text or call 936-201-6495.

Each person who will be using a kayak will need to complete our Liability Waiver in advance via the link here on the website. A Rental Contract is also required by individuals or the person responsible for the group or party and can be completed in advance to save time at the ramp.

Parents must complete our Liability Waiver for minors under 18 years old. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 

- Children must be 13 or older to paddle their own Single Kayak

- One child 5 to 6 years old can sit in front of one adult on our Premium Single Kayaks. TOTAL WEIGHT CANNOT EXCEED 275LBS

- One child 5 to 6 years old can sit between two adults on a Tandem kayak.

TOTAL WEIGHT CANNOT EXCEED 400LBS

- One child 7 years and older can sit or paddle with one adult on a Tandem kayak.

TOTAL WEIGHT CANNOT EXCEED 400LBS

Please arrive 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled launch time to receive fitting and equipment instruction.

What if the weather is bad? For safety, we do not deliver kayaks during prolonged rain events, flooding, thunderstorms, high winds, or on weather alert days. If dangerous weather is predicted and we need to cancel your trip we will notify you as soon as the Weather Service has a firm prediction, usually 24 to 48 hours in advance, and we'll work with you to reschedule your trip. While kayaks are in your possession, please use your discretion and be weather aware.

Guided Eco Tours Available! We have several tours already available on our Events page however we are happy to schedule a private tour for your group of up to 4 with advance notice. Please email paddle@toledobendkayakrental.com to book your spot and receive additional instructions. Registration deadline is at least 2 days prior to tour and subject to availability. Limited to 4 participants with a minimum of 2 to schedule the trip. The trip cost varies depending on program and is payable at the time of booking. You will receive a full refund if the trip is cancelled due to bad weather or if we receive less than the minimum number of participants. If you wish to cancel your tour we must be notified at least 24 hours prior to the start of the trip to issue a refund.
