Our Standard Kayaks are sit on tops equipped with a simple seat and backrest and molded footrests. We do have fishing models available with two rear rod holders and rod lanyards on request. Maximum weight capacity is up to 225lbs including you, your paddle, drinks and gear, depending on the model. If you weigh more than 220lbs you will need a Premium Kayak.
Our Premium Kayaks are equipped with aluminum frame seats that sit a bit higher and are much more supportive. They're ideal for longer adventures and people with back issues. They are sit on top kayaks and feature adjustable footrests that add comfort and low back support during longer paddles. We have fishing models available with two rear rod holders and rod lanyards available on request. Our Premiums have a higher weight capacity (275lbs to 350lbs) and offer more stability in choppy waters. We will place you in the kayak model that's appropriate for you.
Our Tandem Kayak is great for paddling with a friend or child. It is equipped with two frame seats like our Premiums, dry storage and features the highest weight capacity at 400lbs. It's also our heaviest kayak, weighing in at 99lbs so you'll need two able adults to carry (not drag!!!) it to and from the water.

- Children must be 13 or older to paddle their own Single Kayak.
- One child 5 to 6 years old can sit in front of one adult on our Premium Single Kayaks as long as total weight including gear does not exceed the weight capacity of the kayak. We will ask everyone's weight and choose the right kayak.
- One child 5 to 6 years old can sit between two adults on a Tandem kayak as long as total weight including gear does not exceed 400lbs.
- One child 7 years and older can sit in the front cockpit with one adult on a Tandem kayak.
Sunscreen, bug repellent, sunglasses, hydrating drinks and protective shoes that can get wet are a must. Fingerless paddling gloves are helpful for better paddle grip and for preventing blisters and sunburn. A hat for sun protection is also a good idea, as are healthy snacks and lunch for an all day trip. Bring your cell phone, our water resistant cell phone pouches allow touchscreen function without removing your phone. If you will be fishing, make sure to have your license with you. You can order one here https://tpwd.texas.gov/business/licenses/online_sales/ We must have a signed Liability Waiver on file for each paddler.
No Worries! You're embarking on a great adventure! Kayaking is a great way to experience some of the most beautiful waterways in the country up close and personal! Just relax, most people become comfortable in the kayak very quickly. We will help you get going with the basics.
We do not rent in stormy weather, on Weather Alert days or during high winds. During your trip if a pop up storm should occur, pull to the bank and remain in the kayak with paddles laid flat until it passes. In increased winds stay close to the bank. Be weather aware. Know your ability and don't paddle further than you are able to paddle back. We cannot come get you so you will need to return to your launch site.
With cooler weather and water temperatures it is not always safe to be out on the water in a kayak, therefore we do not rent when water temperatures fall below the high 60's unless the renter has appropriate cold water gear such as a wetsuit. Learn more about cold water safety at the National Center For Cold Water Safety.
We do not refund early turn ins. Please call or text 936-201-6495 if you return your kayak more than 30 minutes early. For multiple day rentals, if you have an emergency and need to leave early we will refund any unused days beyond the first day. Please give us a call or text at 936-201-6495 as soon as possible so we can pick up the kayaks.
